Optima batteries are horrible compared to what they were. More fail than don't. I know, I put one in our Mustang and after the first warranty AutoZone told me the warranty wasn't covered anymore. I contacted Optima myself, they wanted pictures. I sent them a picture, they said because there was another wire not factory to the car it voided the warranty since Red Tops were not long drain batteries and Mustangs required the Yellow top, and since I had a added device it voided the warranty anyways. Screw Optima. Not to mention, they have horrible warranties compared to alternatives just for timelines. Most only a year. Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls which is the leader in industrial batteries including Interstate. I've never had a Walmart higher end battery fail from a single customer or myself. Not the same for the cheap ones, but all bottom end are pretty much recycled batteries anyways. Now if you want to spend the extra for a better battery, go Oddesy XS Power. But personally for all our personal vehicles we use Walmart AGM batteries for everything. And there is a video from Project Farm proving which batteries are better than others and Optima has fallen short in CCA, CA, Inductance, and AH. Duralast was Johnson Controls but now some other brand and blow the buss bars all the time. Now, I can tell you, I tried to drain my son's Group 65 AGM from Walmart, 4000 watt pure sign wave inverter. Engine off. I used a professional Random DA polisher on a truck, 4hrs. Used a shop vac, probably 20min. Used a mig welder just to see if it could handle it and also handle it with the engine off since the inverter showed the battery down only 1 bar. Still worked great and it only showed the battery down to 11.3v. So I know the AH rating is under rated, the cranking amps held up even with the capacity drained. I wish Optima was what they used to be.

I won't buy an optima battery again. The company has changed quality dropped warranty is a PITA to exchange them now especially at O'Reilly's. To explain I was a diehard optima buyer until about 2 years ago. The last one that actually lasted was purchased in 2014 it lasted until about a year ago. Went to O'Reilly's to get a new one and it diedi in a Week "yes my alternator is working " it wouldn't hold a charge when the temperature was below 40°f for more than a day. O'Reilly's would not honor a replacement unless I let them have it 24 hours to test it. Fine their test says it okay? Well I was stuck with this overpriced junk now even when I told them it's a temperature thing. They need to test it when outside and cold I went to Costco and got an Interstate battery that's been reliable for almost a year now. No more optimas for me.

I have a set of classic Mac Tool combination wrenches with the 6 point box ends. They are like new! Because nobody will use them! 6 point box end wrenches are so aggravating. By the time you finally get them seated on a nut, you are left with no swing room. 6 point box end wrenches are practically worthless.

It's amazing the amount of nitpicking about this. This works like a charm. And if you do it while draining the oil pan, the jobs quicker. Less mess. Less clean-up. If your oil filter is stuck on there, try not waiting so long to change your oil and stop over tightening the filter. From fleet maintenance to my own personal vehicles, I never ran into any problems with this. Also, if you dont have the correct replacement filter, maybe it's time to start letting someone else do it for you.

I use to do that with a Philips head screwdriver.

Always make sure you can get the filter a little loose first just in case 😅
